Hey hackintosh community.
I have a dell inspiron 7577, running Catalina 10.15.6 on opencore. I forgot exactly what opencore version I have but I installed everything last summer in June. Its been running well except for my audio, which sometimes doesn't work on boot. I just reboot a couple times until it works, but everything has been peachy except for one thing.
Earlier this year my keyboard on my laptop began giving issues. A couple keys stopped working, and then a couple more. I googled the issue and saw that dells are actually prone to keyboard failures. I accepted this as the reason and went ahead and ordered a nice mechanical keyboard/ mouse set.
My new keyboard worked well for a couple moths, except now some keys stopped working, much in the same way they did on my built in laptop keyboard. I've cleaned the keys just to be safe, but there is very obviously a problem somewhere internal. Now some keys are repeating and some are unresponsive. I doubt my keyboard has gone bad so quickly, and I highly doubt this would happen within months of my laptop keyboard going haywire.
Im writing to ask what you guys think may be causing my keyboard issues - mainly if its software related or that I really am just unlucky and got faulty external and internal keyboards . Do you think upgrading opencore and upgrading macOS will solve this?
FYI it happens on windows too, but somehow not on severe.
