Is there any looking back?..

I want to start hackintoshing but from what I know, I will be installing some complex stuff to get OS X to start. If, however, I fail, is there any looking back? can I install linux/windows back on it? This might not be something to be asked on this sub reddit but I am a bit uncomfortable with what happens if things don't work out. Let me know :D
