Hey all!
I've seen a lot of posts on this subreddit and on other forums where continuity/handoff is only half working. When you try to join your personal hotspot via your hackintosh it tries to connect, but usually fails after a minute with a message "Personal Hotspot could not be enabled".
This guide assumes you've already installed a compatible WiFi card which is natively - or with help of some kexts - recognised. I use the following Kernel extensions in combination with a BCM94352Z (DW1560).
AirportBrcmFixup.kext
BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext
BrcmFirmwareData.kext
BrcmPatchRAM3.kext
The very simple fix goes as follows:
- On your phone, go to bluetooth settings and connect your Hackintosh.
- On your hackintosh, go to network settings
- Wait about a minute, and Bluetooth PAN should return a yellow dot stating "Self Assigned IP-Adress"
- Now you can simply try to connect to your hotspot and everything should work flawelessly.
I hope this might help anyone facing similair issues with continuity and handoff. If someone has a permanent fix, let me know!
