Disable Grub

I think people here know best what I am trying to achive.

I am happily hackintoshing with clover in efi mode, windows and macOS are booting ok, but everytime I select linux to boot, grub is automatically selected as default boot partition on next reboot and I have to reselect clover from the bios boot menu.

Any tips on how to prevent grub doing this?

Edit: Or is this even grubs fault, it could be the linux distro, I am using ubuntu??
