TPlink Bluetooth adapter has issue with non apple keyboards

Ive been using the tplink bluetooth adapter with my Big Dur hack for quite some time now and its worked flawlessly with my apple keyboard and mouse.

I recently purchased a Satechi keyboard and it simply will not pair, absolutely everything I have tried has been unsuccessful

• resetting the bluetooth module.
• resetting the keyboard
• deleting bluetooth preferences and restarting

The keyboard happly pairs with any other laptop i have but not my Big Sur hack.

can anyone else recommend a usb bluetooth adapter that works OOTB with BigSur ?
