Hello All,
First post here. I have built Big Sur ( updated after Mojave install ) with Success after lots of efforts. Below are the config >
- Intel I5 9400F
- Asus Prime B360 M-A
- Zotec Nvidia 730GT 4Gigs
- 32 Gigs Ram initial but later only 16 as one of Corsair stick was faulty
- OC 0.71/ latest with debug mode
- Dual Monitors
- 500 Gigs WD PCIE SSD
My main setup earlier was ubuntu 20.04 and mainly used for development of Mobile and elixir apps. For porting and testing on IOS apps i needed mac system and tried and burnt my hands and time on Sosumi and Simple KVM but no luck so lastly decided to go for hackintosh. Gone through lot of stuff online and this groups ( thanks all folks here ) before giving it a try ( almost a weeks efforts). Here are some take aways and experience >
- Dont use WIFI but use Lan, overall things are much faster and butter smooth
- I used Ubuntu for USB creation. Before creating USB, please delete MBT partition using "dd" command else you might face issues
- Go with setup "AS-IS" defined in OC guide ( all kext, drivers and acpi ) and experiment on failures
- Most important > Check all hardware components before doing any installs; one of 16 gigs RAM was faulty and faced many segmentation fault issues, so these are very hard to fix
After updates >
- Fixed USB mappings and replaced USBInjectAll kext
- Drivers for TP LINK 822Nv5
- Audio by default setting of alcid = 11
- Added 100 Gigs on another drive as recovery
System is working super smooth . Not able to upload EFI here, so sorry for that.
