The only USB dongles I ever find are 4.0 or 5.0, and for 5.0, almost all use the same realtek chip. What's the deal? I would imagine that the internet would allow for a wider variety of choices. Instead the market is flooded with realtek chips or obsolete 4.0 dongles when the standard should be 4.2. There were even a few instances where sellers advertised a CSR or broadcom chipset and it wound up being realtek when I tried it.
