I was using VoodooHDA for my HDMI sound on a RX5500 XT, but due to some problems after upgrading to 11.4 it stopped working The proposed solution for this didn't seem to work for me (I like to have my SIP enabled for forthcoming updates). So I changed back to AppleALC on my HDMI port I didn't get any sound so i tried on of the DisplayPorts's then there was sound. So it has some sort Plug and Play functionality?. But it stopped after changing the output of my HDMI amp back and forward. Then I found that when you use the hidden detect displays button (hold down the option key on the display settings) the sound comes back. Then I found an applescript that does the job for me exported it to an app, so put in my dock and now the sound comes back with just one click. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/12640643/applescript-to-run-detect-displays. It's just a tip for people who struggle with HDMI or DP sound. [link] [comments] |
