Is guest macOS on macOS host possible?

Hi! I don’t know if this is the correct sub to ask.

I have a 16” MBP running BigSur - I am trying to run Catalina using QEMU.

Every guide or tool I can find (macos-simpleKVM, OSX-KVM) is Linux host oriented. I figured I’d only have to change “-enable-kvm” to “-accel hvf” to get it to run.

It did - but I am (being new to all this) worried that I’m exposing my host machine to something - be it a vulnerability or running it incorrectly, idk.

Is this ok? Or is there a guide anywhere to run macos on macos?
