Desperately need advice on USB audio interface choice

Hi

I just sunk way too much money into a new PC to turn into a hackintosh. I got it working great, but I can't add my thunderbolt audio interface. My motherboard (ASUS TUF Z490) has a Thunderbolt header, so I bought an ASUS PCIe ThunderboltEX 3-TR, but the PC won't boot up with it connected. I can't figure it out and was told that I basically wouldn't be able to. If anyone knows how I can get it working, that'd be great (and save me a lot of $$$ I don't have :D)!

But now I have settled on buying a USB audio interface, because I assume they will work fine (?)... and I really just need this working. But just thought I'd check first.

I'm going to get either a RME Babyface Pro FS, or an Apogee Duet 2/3. The 3 just came out. For a USB interface on a hackintosh, does it matter how old/new it is, or can I just pick any of the three choices and it should work fine?

I would really, really appreciate any advice on this.
