Motherboard - MSI ProSeries Intel Coffee Lake H310 CPU - Intel Core i5-9400 GPU - SAPPHIRE AMD Radeon RX 570 4gb Vanilla installation with OpenCore I really wanted to get OpenCanopy because I have a wired mouse but a wireless keyboard and I don't want plug in my keyboard every time that I want to switch to Windows which I do a lot right now for gaming. Plus it looks cooler. It looked simple enough on the OpenCore website so I tried it and it just didn't work. The first thing that was different was that my config.plist didn't have the PickerVariant inside of Boot. So I looked on the internet and found another Reddit post about the same sort of thing and someone said to add your own PickerVariant so that's what I did. Mind you, all this was done after I added all the resources and the OpenCanopy file to OC. I keep getting the error flashing on my screen that OpenCore failed to load images and that the external interface failed. Obviously, as you can tell from the pictures, the images are where they are supposed to be in the resources. I tried poking around the internet some more and changed a few of the values in the misc -> boot part of the the plist. I can do this because I have a backup on my USB so I'm open to trying anything. None of these changes did anything though. I did a lot different things and worked on it for more than 4 hours or so. I tried clearing the nvram each time and just taking off the PickerVariant I added. Nothing has worked for me though. It might be a matter of having to update to 0.7.0, which is probably what I'll end up doing. It was kind of a pain last time I did it for Big Sur and I was hoping I could wait until Monterey released. Plus, OpenCanopy should work fine on 0.6.5. If anyone could give me any sort of suggestions or things I might have missed, it would be greatly appreciated. added the opencanopy.efi thing here [link] [comments] |
