Struggling and at my end with this one... System Specs:
- Processor: i11700K
- Memory: 64GB Corsair
- WIFI/Bluetooth: BCM94360NG
- Networking: i225-v (rev 3)
- OS: Big Sur 11.4
- GPU: 6800XT
- MB: Z590I Asus ROG Strix
What Works:
- Big Sur boots and loads
- iMessage and Facetime
- App Downloads
- Bluetooth
- Wireless
- Sleep (I think)
What Doesn't Work:
- Network: i225-V
I finally got Big Sur to load on my z590i after working on it all weekend. I swapped the wireless/bluetooth card out for a card that has better support natively, and for the most part, everything works... Excluding the networking adapter i225-v. I have tried everything in the opencore document, I even plugged in the correct info for device properties for the adapter based on IORegistry... I can't seem to get this going and I am looking for help. Based on the recent document from OpenCore and Z590 boards with Big Sur, I no longer need to PATCH or Include the Device ID, or use the FAKEPIID_v225i or FAKEPIID kext. But no matter what I do I run into issues. Here is what I have tired so far...
Tried/Results:
- FakePCIID kext (enabled), FakePCIID_i225v kext (enabled), Device-id F215, and Patch
- Ethernet shows up, pulls a none routable IP when using any of the IDs in Opencore
- When using the one in IORegister it comes online, however, pulls non-routable ip address
- FakePCIID kext(enabled), device-id F215, and patch disabled
- Ethernet shows up, and pulls and IP address and works for 5 pings, then stops working
- When using the one in IORegister it comes online, however, pulls non-routable ip address
- Device-id F215
- Ethernet Shows up, however, I have a kernel panic on cable plugged in
- No device ID
- Ethernet shows up, shows correct device id in ioregister, kernel panic on plug/unplug, or non-routable ip address
I have several combinations with the two IDs in The opencore guide for device-ids, as well as using the correct one that I pulled from IORegister...
When I do get this to work, it works briefly (max 10sec) and then falls off the network. Looking at forums it looks like Big Sur 11.4 does not need the Kext (both?) or the device-id, and looking at AIDA64 it looks like I have the i225-v (3) rev 3 adapter.
My question is what am I doing wrong here? Can anyone offer some insight?
