I know it's a pretty standard build, but there's one final mystery I'm trying to solve: iCloud is keeping this system from being reliable. I'm not sure whether it's a hardware or EFI issue.
Hardware:
- CPU: i9 10850K
- GPU: XTX Radeon RX 580 8 GB
- RAM: 32 GB Corsair Vengeance
- Motherboard/Laptop model: Gigabyte z490 Vision D
- Audio Codec: ALC 1220-VB
- Ethernet Card: Intel
- Wifi/BT Card: planning on a Fenvi t919
- What guide/tool followed: Dortania OpenCore and u/SchmockLord1912 GitHub page
- What part I got an issue with:
- The system just reboots after 5-15 minutes when a user profile is connected to an iCloud account. It's completely stable otherwise. See prior post for more details.
- Overclocking has not been super successful.
- What files/config I am using: It's basically a duplicate of the system I built for my dad but with unique SMBIOS. I've tried doing iMac20,2 and iMacPro1,1 with comparable results (with respect to the iCloud causing reboots issue.)
- Extra Info: I was reusing a Corsair H60i water cooler from a previous build and I'm not confident I used enough thermal paste when I installed the new CPU (I've only done this a few times). It runs a little hotter than my Skylake build (about 35-55 C at idle compared to 27-35 C for the Skylake). I have no idea whether that has anything to do with my iCloud reboot issue.
