BigSur - OCB: StartImage failed - Aborted

Hardware Info:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8550U (KabyLake-R)
  • Graphics: UHD Graphics 620 and GeForce GTX 1050
  • RAM: 16GB @ 2400MHz DDR4
  • Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 730-15IKB
  • Network Card: Intel Wireless 8265 / 8275
  • SSD: M.2 NVMe Samsung 970 Evo Plus

Followed Dortania's Opencore install guide

After booting into recovery and installing Big Sur onto an empty SSD, the installer rebooted and brought me back to the Opencore menu. After selecting the newly created "macOS Installer" boot entry, some verbose shows up ultimately ending with

30:902 09:999 OC: Boot failed - Aborted 30:921 00:019 OCB: StartImage failed - Aborted

This persists for a few seconds before returning to the opencore install guide.

I have tried enabling Booter -> Quirks -> DevirtualizeMmio = True

But this simply causes a bootloop.
