Happy to report a resounding SUCCESS installing Catalina and then Big Sur on my 2020 Blade 15 Advanced! I followed the Dortania OpenCore install guide for the most part. Used a few Github repos for older models of the blade for pointers in the right direction.
Physical flashing of the bios EEPROM was required in order to unlock CfgLock, DVMT prealloc, and VT-d options in the bios menu. The 2020 Blade bios is pretty locked down and modified roms can not be flashed with software alone, but in general it was pretty straightforward and went over more or less without a hitch.
