So I've managed to get my M73 running Big Sur and so far mostly everything works aside from iMessage/FaceTime, I found a guide on how to fix that but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
The problem I've run into is the WiFi. The M73 has a BIOS whitelist for WiFi cards and will only accept certain ones, so I'm trying to find a Mini PCI-E card that has both WiFi + Bluetooth, will support unlocking with an Apple Watch, and is on the BIOS whitelist. I searched and found a few posts on the M73 on here but nothing that covered this particular subject, so I figured I'd ask and see if anyone has been down this road before.
I've been looking at the Broadcom Bcm94352hmb card because as near as I can tell it's on the whitelist, but it looks like it has some issues where you have to constantly disable/re-enable unlocking with Apple Watch because it stops working.
My other option is to bypass the BIOS whitelist, I actually bookmarked a couple posts I found on this and am gonna check them out tomorrow because surprisingly enough it doesn't look like it's too terribly complicated to do, but if I could just buy a card and pop it in without having to poke around in the Assembly code for my BIOS I'd rather just do that instead.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
