This is what I did to make it work:-
- Set the ROM to 112233445566.
- Updated all the info such as Serial Number, MLB, UUID...(An invalid serial is recommended).
- Reset NVRAM.
- Downgrade to Catalina(I'd recommend clean-install so you can be extra sure. I know you can clear some file to start the iMessage signing-in fresh, but, this clears out every trace so I did it).
- Signed in to my Apple ID.
- And, when the customer code error shows up, I contacted Apple Support by chat(Just go to the Support thingy, Go to Apple ID, go to The topic is not listed, Type something like iMessage doesn't work, hit enter and voila, you have the chat option. It will not ask you the serial but the advisor will).
- And, you have iMessage working. You can update to Big Sur if you want to now. It will work even if you clean install(Just don't go anywhere near PlatformInfo in config.plist and you're good to go).
Note:- If it doesn't work, try changing the ROM to your Ethernet card's MAC address.
Credits (I know the is not that big of a deal to like credit everyone, but still,):-
- bhavin260(in discord): For the ROM change recommendation
- u/gnehciak: For testing it out
- u/SnowWorrier: For testing it out as well
