Building 1st Hackintosh

Hello,

New to this community. I’ve been considering building a Hackintosh for several years and have decided to pull the trigger. I mostly work in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. There’s a likelihood I will need to work with ArcGIS Pro on Windows as well, so will need to dual boot or spin up a VM.

I built a Linux machine running Debian when I was in high school. That was twenty years ago. I’ve always been self-taught. I’m no network engineer or programmer, but I make my way through things with Google.

I’ve read the FAQ, the GPU Buyer’s Guide, AppleALC’s Supported Codecs, Wireless Buyer’s Guide, and the OpenCore Install Guide.

A few notes on my usage: 1. I’m not interested in overclocking anything. 2. I mostly edit photos (mostly from the A7R IV). 3. I also edit video (mostly from the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and soon the A7S III). 4. I’m starting to do some 2D & 3D mapping which my top of the line 2018 MacBook Pro was struggling to render when running Windows 10 on it. I’m expecting I’ll need to do this on Windows.

Here is what I’m thinking for the build,

Questions: 1. GPU: After reading the GPU Guide, it would seem the WX 7100 is the most reliable card to get if I want to ensure continued support? Is it possible the RX 5700XT will lose support? 2. RAM: Can I use 4000MHz RAM? 3. WiFi: Do I need to have an Apple WiFi card to get keyboard in BIOS, or will the Fenvi with the BCM94360 chipset do the trick?

Am I on the right track here? Does it seem like this setup will come together without too many issues? Appreciate your guidance!
