I'm trying to salvage the lcd screen from my old iMac and will need a controller board from amazon or ebay.
I am following a few videos, but mainly this one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwzOVysJ7yc&ab_channel=CapitalMacService , as the PSU to the mac is dead and I figured a $20-40 fix was better than $200 one, and I can slap my raspberry Pi in it.
My question comes up when trying to find the correct controller board for this lcd monitor. I have found a few that match the model number https://www.ebay.com/c/19004970966 but I noticed that they don't have "inverters" like in the video.
The LCD does have one cable coming from the top left of the back, similar to the inverters in the video. I'm wondering if they all need this inverter, and whether I need to keep searching or just add a piece.
Mac is a 2007 24"
Any info on the inverters or controller is greatly appreciated! (And if this isn't the subreddit for this, point me in the right direction!)
