Hey guys,
So i used to have a completely working build on my system which was running Sierra and was working without any issues. However due to my Nvidia graphics card, I couldn't upgrade so I removed it and upgraded it, which broke the system since it was running Clover and upgraded directly from Sierra to Catalina.
So i decided to restart from scratch and go the OpenCore route. I started off with Catalina and noticed quite a few issue where frames were dropped and mouse would stutter and the whole system would lag. I upgraded to Big Sur and it got better, but also been playing around with different kexts.
Currently, my K380 keyboard connects to the pc but all of a sudden just stops working and the key input delay is massive before it just stops.
Screen freezing up, and dropped frames I would say where moving the mouse from left to right, it's moving smoothly and then just freezes for a second or two and then jumps.
So my build specs are:
Motherboard: Z170P-D3
CPU: Intel i3-6100
Graphics: HD530
RAM: 8GB DDR3
SSD: Kingston 240GB
I've tried searching for numerous guides on the Z170P mainboard and tried them all but can't seem to fix the above issues. Can someone help guide me as to where I might be going wrong?
My bluetooth is the CSR one so in About it shows up as 'Cambridge Silicon Radio'. I tried that specific CSRBluetooth kext and that just makes the machine never boot.
I read that I should be using BrcmPatchRAM3 for Catalina/Big Sur but using that, my bluetooth becomes completely useless. The only way I can have it at least working in the start is to use BrcmPatchRAM2.
Not sure if i can share links but using this EFI: https://github.com/berikiushi/Z170i-Pro-Gaming-OpenCore it with trial and error of other kexts, I'm still facing issues.
Any help or guidance is really appreciated. My macbook pro died 3 weeks ago so been trying to get this set up working until the new macbooks come out.
