Specs: Q6600, 6GB DDR2, P5B-VM SE Motherboard, Nvidia 9600 GSO 512. I managed to install El Capitan and everything is working, except the fact that if I boot without nv_disable=1 (but with Inject Nvidia) using Clover, it sees the GPU correctly and I do have hardware acceleration as expected, but if I do anything on it that requires the GPU even a little (having the animation of opening an app, for example Firefox) or even sometimes randomly if I have more than 2 apps open (2 finder windows and I tried opening System Preferences), it freezes the display and than it starts flickering the way you can see in the imgur album above. Everything on the screen is stuck, but I can still move my mouse cursor for some reason. However the PC doesn't crash or reboot by itself, I need to manually reboot it. And moreover, if I just open the PC and don't open anything on it, nothing happens. I left it unattended for 1 hour and it did nothing. I cand move the mouse on top of the dock to magnify it in real time and it doesn't crash, but if I click on System Preferences, or any app for that matter, it starts flickering like crazy. I don't understand what is going on. I tried installing on another partitions Both Yosemite and Mavericks and still the same exact problem. And I know that there is no problem with the GPU, because I booted in windows and tried playing some games and it didn't even display any artifacts, nothing to say about even attempting to flicker like that... I can't find anyone with a similar problem online... Could you please help me a little? Thanks. EDIT: I know that in the photos it appears that Nvidia Web drivers are installed, but I read those can cause problems too, with legacy nvidia gpus, so I uninstalled them, but still nothing changed. Anyways, the Nvidia Drivers were never actually used, because OS X defaulted back to Mac OS default drivers, even with Clover Use Web Drivers enabled. And without Inject Nvidia it wouldn't boot at all. I have tried everything, I am stumbled. [link] [comments] |
