I configured my second hackintosh a couple of months ago. It is an old Dell Optiplex 7010 with an i7 3770 and Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics on Catalina.
Everything works for now, however sometimes when I boot up, it only shows a black screen. It is about 50/50. Not even the normal Dell post boot screen. Most of the time I can fix it by switching the DisplayPort cable in the other port on the computer. However this is not always the case, sometimes I have to reboot to make it work again.
I am using an HDMI cable with my monitor, and I connect it using a dongle. I tried using an different cable and a different dongle, but it doesn't make a difference.
For some reason, when the machine is booted up, and I change the DisplayPort cable to the other port (it has 2), some USB ports are disabled. I thought usb remapping would fix it, however this was not the case. When I plug in a new usb device, it can cause another usb device to disable.
What causes this? Is this a hardware issue even though it wasn't occurring when windows was installed? How can I fix it?
