I found this guide by u/twobikes and essentially followed it completely - the only difference being that (given the 1600x900 display I used) I substituted the low-res config file for the high-res one. Upon finishing the creation of the USB installer, I inserted it in the laptop and booted to it using BIOS. It displayed a significant amount of error messages, then transitioned to a grey screen. After this the display turned off, and when I turned on the display about one hour later, the spinning color wheel was stuck in the top left corner of the screen. I considered letting it continue to run, but decided that because it had already taken more than two hours, I needed to remove the drive.
What should I do from here ? Has anyone tried this guide or installed MacOS on this laptop? Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Lenovo 2349SST
- CPU: Intel Core i5 3320M @ 2.60GHz (Ivy Bridge)
- GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (1600x900 display)
If this process does not work, I am going to move to the vanilla install guide. I had tried it in the past but encountered some errors. If anyone has any suggestions for this situation or additional guides, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
