Hi.
I just got my system switched over from Catalina 10.15.x to BigSur 11.1 and at the same time I had converted from Clover r5107 to OpenCore 0.6.5.
GeekBench5 OpenCL scores have dropped from 33,000 to 25,000 (approx), and Metal Score is 25,000 also.
It seems the SFFT portion of the benchmark is severely lower. I also tried with RadeonBooster.kext and it is successfully loaded by OpenCore, but it only helped by about 1k or so in back to back testing.
LuxMark3 is hitting 16,000s (don't have any tests on Catalina to confirm if it's the same, though).
CPU benchmarks in GeekBench5 have been relatively the same throughout macOS 10.14, 10.15, and now 11.1.
System specs as follows:
* Hardware: CPU: i7-2600K (standard clock) GPU: Sapphire 4GB RX580 (Stock VBios) RAM: 16GB 2133MHZ DDR3 Motherboard/Laptop model: P8P67 Deluxe + UEFI Bios: 3602 Screen(s) Number: 1 Screen(s) Resolution: 2560x1440 @ 60hz Bootloader: OpenCore 0.6.5 SMBIOS: MacPro6,1 (on Clover and OpenCore)
I was using the Orinoco Framebuffer in Catalina at some point, as well as Lilu + Whatevergreen (maybe it didn't need the framebuffer, but it was there anyway). I was also loading CsmVideoDxe-64.efi to get extra resolutions during bootloading, because without it I was limited to 1024x768 which looked ugly, but I don't know if it affected performance.
All my hardware specs have remained the same, the only thing I changed was the Bootloader and installed a Samsung 860 EVO to Install Bigsur to replace my old tired SSD.
It doesn't seem like the RX580 is hitting the higher clock speeds, perhaps.
Everything else seems to be working as it did with Clover in 10.15.x.
Should I be trying a different SMBIOS?
