I'm at my wit's end and can't figure out this audio problem I'm having. When playing audio from ANY source, after a time it starts breaking up and distorting, and a longer and longer delay is introduced.
My audio is outputted via HDMI via a Vega 64 GPU.
If I go to Audio Midi Setup and change the format, the audio is clear for a few minutes, then it starts degrading. The higher the bitrate/sample depth, the quicker it degrades. I can get 5 min out of 16bit 44.1k. I get about 45 seconds out of 24bit 192k.
Audio from ANY source has this issue. whether it's Youtube, Spotify, Zoom, or monitoring output from multiple pro audio interfaces.
I've had this problem with every flavor of OC since 6.2. I'm on 6.5 no with all the latest needed ktexts and .aml.
Ive looked at the AppleHLA guides. That doesn't seem to be the issue.
Ive also upgraded my coffeelake processors from i5 9600k to i9 9900ks, This had no effect.
I've tried all sorts of BIOS settings on CPU and memory timing.
My gut tells me its some kind of timing issue, but have no idea where to look. I saw some similar problems described with really early versions of OC, and intel nehalem processors. The fix there was not using nehalem.
