Basically title. I have Catalina installed on my machine and I wanted to partition this 1TB mechanical HDD I use in Windows as mass data storage for use in MacOS for data/Time Machine backups. But Disk Utility in MacOS just flat out doesn't see it.
I've tried everything I can think off: confirming the Bios is set to ACHI, messed with the Device paths in my config.plist, etc. The only success I had was by turning on CSM and it showed up. But I couldn't format the drive without converting the whole thing away from NTFS; so I rebooted to Windows and partitioned it, only for it to no longer show up again in MacOS, CSM off or on.
Below are a few screenshots of the Drive's details (already partitioned, but I'm adjusting the size later on anyways), but let me know if there's anything else useful I can get.
EDIT: I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but the drive is super old. I bought back in maybe 2013 or so and that was bought used. It still works perfectly to this day, but might be a factor?
