HARDWARE: CPU: Core i7-7700K GPU: Radeon RX 580 (Gigabyte 1080 is also installed but disabled due to lack of support) RAM: 32 GB DDR4 3000 MHz Motherboard/Laptop Make and Model: Gigabyte Z270 (any problems with audio were resolved as if I had Z370) Audio Codec: Default set on OpenCore 0.6.4 packageEthernet Card: Onboard Realtek EthernetWifi/BT Card: No card, however, external USB installed (both BT and wifi, BT works as if native card however I can not seem to configure the USB wifi adapter to act the same) Touchpad and touch display devices: N/A BIOS revision: Not sure, but should be whatever is most up to date for my motherboard OpenCore 0.6.4 from dortania was SO HELPFUL! Outlined everything perfectly, read troubleshooting before you begin installing, can save you from falsely restarting during important disk sectioning periods! Everything is working (ie. iCloud, iMessage, app store, etc.) EXCEPTFacetime: I can create and receive calls from apple ID as well as phone number, and everything on the other person's side works perfectly. HOWEVER, I seem to be unable to see the incoming video from the other person in the call. I only had this problem from what I can recall after I had installed the GPU and moved from integrated graphics. I had performed a clean install several times to resolve the issue to no avail. I am able to hear the other person and see myself on every video call normally. A WEIRD NOTE: It seems to work when it wants to, displaying video randomly from theother person (only with certain people and not always the same person, and if it doesappear it either immediately freezes or works for a short period of time before it alsofreezes, later displaying a poor connection symbol that remains until the end of the call(even on 500 GB up and down internet speeds and nothing else open!) Audio: Initially unavailable, but extremely easy fix! (Copied from Z370 instructions I had read somewhere) Alter the default audio PCI path to: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1f,0x3) That's it! I had not yet configured the boot chime, but honestly don't know if it is worth the troubleif I can't find a remotely simple method. If you know how to easily, let me know! I've always wanted to make a Hackintosh, wanting to try out macOS without forking over the price for a new computer when I already had such useful and powerful parts I could utilize. I remember first trying as a freshman in high school, and actually got it to boot! Clover was a bit too confusing at the time, however, the new OpenCore instructions were so simple I got this running in less than 2 days of my winter break as a senior in high school now, leaving the rest of my break to troubleshoot and refine :) I believe that this will be somewhat useful in college, with any compatibility issues I mayhave being obsolete as I have both windows and macOS available. Not to mention that I can choose whichever software I prefer looks of for basic computing,as both OSes show similar results using hardware. All in all, the was in the end a huge success for me. Everything other than facetime had run perfectly in earlier revisions with almost the same config on High Sierra while I was still using Nvidia (not saying this is the direct issue, but I noticed that Nvidia (on High Sierra) and IGPU (on Big Sur) did work for me previously). If someone can please help me come to a resolution on this one tiny little thing, I will have an essentially perfect rendition of an iMac (please!!!!!) that took a little hard work and a really affordable, yet powerful, AMD GPU addition (under $300, but would work fine without if you were not intending on using multiple monitors). Here is a link to another thread in r/hackintosh which is actually someone else reporting an almost identical complaint on similar hardware: https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/k6tp8l/facetime_no_incoming_video/ [link] [comments] |
