I've finally completed this monstrosity of a build. It's dual booting Big Sur and Windows 10, with almost everything functioning flawlessly. Parts list: CPU: Intel Core i5 9600K GPU: AMD Radeon VII RAM: 48Gb (2x16Gb, 2x8Gb) Corsair Vengeance 3200MhZ Audio Codec: alcid=1 boot-arg. Didn't have to do anything besides this and it works perfectly Motherboard: MSI MAG Z390 Tomahawk Ethernet: Intel ( R ) Ethernet Connection I219-V WiFi/Bluetooth: Broadcom BCM94360CD with Shaluoman PCI-e adapter Guides: Dortania (all hail) The ONLY thing that is not working, for some strange reason, is CPU monitoring info. I had to switch to FakeSMC from VirtualSMC to get the computer to even think about booting, but it doesn't look like it wants to give me any kind of CPU usage or Temp info in MacOS, even though it does in Windows. It's not a huge deal, though. If somebody has any ideas I'd be glad to hear it, but overall I'm extremely happy with this build. Everything else I can think of works, including sleep, iCloud services, handoff, Apple Watch unlock, AirPods, etc. Less importantly, I'm using an NZXT H710i case and controlling the lights, fans, and AIO pump through a Windows 10 virtual machine with USB passthrough from the MOBO headers. I thought it was a pretty slick workaround. Of course, now and in the future, if somebody has a similar build I'm here to answer questions. [link] [comments] |
