Audio with HDMI - Audio device not present unless in clamshell mode

So, I've got this problem that I have a bandaid fix for:

When plugging my laptop to external display via HDMI - everything work except for audio. The audio device (HDMI-external display) is not present is audio settings. When I close the lid, the audio device shows and it works (even if I open the lid again).

I am sick of closing the lid and opening it again to get audio, any info is appreciated:

Specs:

- Kaby lake HD620 - Lenovo YOGA, Mojave.

- Running AppleALC 1.3.X (latest version -> I get no audio at all)
