Just bought a Broadcom WiFi card, will I need to remove the intel kexts before I install it?

I think having an intel WiFi card is whats causing my iMessage/FaceTime failure as I’ve read WiFi should be named en1 and it’s name itwl or something… either way, Broadcom chipset will be better than my chitty intel. So would I need to remove the kexts before installing and booting up? Will it cause a boot failure not to remove them? I’m using this config.plist on a Thinkpad t480 https://github.com/EETagent/T480-OpenCore-Hackintosh/blob/master/OC/config.plist
