Please point me to a good guide for fixing my USB.
Current situation:
- Running 10.14.5 (not looking to update currently, need to support old software for a while more)
- Clover using old r/Hackintosh vanilla guide (~2.5 years ago, updated os and hardware a few times since)
- Board is a GA-Z170-HD3
- USBInjectAll was working fine (I think?) but only gave me USB2.0 speeds on front ports, due to old case I was using the USB2.0 motherboard headers which worked. Speed was not an issue for the devices I connect there. USB3.0 ports on back of machine have never worked for USB3.0 devices - again, not something I needed.
- Now I have updated my case, I have to use USB3.0 headers and I discover that they are not working for USB3.0 devices (still work for USB2.0 devices).
When I follow the current vanilla guide, the USB section refers to this tonymac post. Following that guide, I only see 15 ports in IORegistryExplorer so I am not even sure if I have USBInjectAll working correctly (the guide claims I should see 26, otherwise USBInjectAll is not working correctly).
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Additional info and specific questions:
- I have tried adding a number of different sections to config.plist according to various guides but they never seem to make any difference.
- I am not sure how to check definitively whether USBInjectAll is working properly. How can I check?
- I am not sure how much impact the OS version has - do I need to follow a guide specifically for 10.14.x?
