Recently upgraded from Catalina 10.15.7 to Big Sur 11.1 after doing some research on OpenCore Dortania page. This page was super easy to understand and follow along. Previously used Clover in Mojave and that was an absolute paint use; OpenCore was super simple and straight forward! Currently running OpenCore 0.6.4 with Big Sur 11.1; boots as expected, kept the EFI folder from my Catalina build which was flawless; but updated OpenCore and Kexts using the guide. Performed the update through System Preferences as normal. Sometimes, after startup, I would be greeted with the OC:Failed to load configuration scree. I would need to restart and then the Boot Loader loads as expected. Need to research this a bit more. Everything else works exactly as expected, I've maybe also noticed that Big Sur loads faster than Catalina; maybe it's just me. CPU: i7-8700K Not Working: I'm currently putting together another build with i9-9900K, Asus Prime Z390-A board w/ 5700XT. I previously had the 5700XT and 16GB more RAM in this machine and it was a video editing beast. Couldn't be more happy with the performance. Let me know if you have questions, will try and answer to the best of my ability! [link] [comments] |
