I do advanced computations professionally and for 8 years I've been running a hackintosh as my exclusive work machine. However I recently had to update osx, which naturally involved some downtime, during which I had an epiphany of sorts: While I've enjoyed the challenge and feeling of satisfaction of sticking it to Apple, time really is money, and perhaps this bold adventure has finally run its course. So I bit the bullet. Bought the entry level M1 macbook air and turned my hackintosh into a Linux server to do all the heavy lifting 💪 I'm a relative beginner with Linux, so this ought to keep me busy for awhile. I am, however, thrilled by how stable both of these systems are running now, and I couldn't be happier with my decision.
It's been a blast gang. Thx for everyone's help keeping my system afloat all these years, and keep on fighting that good fight and helping each other out! Perhaps I'll be back one day when I retire, if and when there is a proper m1 transition for hackintosh. Cheers!
