Z97 i7-4790k and 5700 XT crashes when encoding h264

Hey all!

I just got my hackintosh upgraded to Big Sur and switched from Clover to OpenCore 0.6.3. Everything is working well (minus native NVRAM issues due to my motherboard) except this:

My hackintosh will hard crash and reboot after anywhere from fifteen seconds to fifteen minutes of attempting to transcode media using h264. Both ffmpeg and Handbrake have this problem. I’ll try to convert from mkv to m4v using either of these tools; my CPU and GPU both go to max usage, and then after sometime it’ll just hard crash.

I can’t seem to find any solution. I have my iGPU enabled and properly accounted for with a platform ID. I’ve also tried stress testing my hack under windows to make sure it isn’t my PSU - I a full stress test on the CPU and GPU simultaneously for over an hour and it did just fine, so it’s something in macOS.

It did it with my Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse and my current PowerColor 5700 XT Red Dragon.

It does this with Clover on macOS 10.15.3 and OpenCore on 11.0.1.

Is there something I’m missing? Back in the day I had a GTX 980 TI and I could transcode movies fine back then. What am I missing...?
