Hackintosh,
I've been a lurker on /r/hackintosh and knew I'd give a dual boot a try. The time has finally come and would like your upfront and honest opinion on what I need to look out for and be weary of. Here is my newly constructed rig from a couple of months ago:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070 RAM: G.Skill 32GB DDR4 3200 MHz SSD: 500GB WD Blue M.2 HDD: 2TB WD 7200 RPM Heatsink: CoolerMaster ML360R RGB Fan: 2x 140MM CoolerMaster RGB Case: CoolerMaster MasterBox MB511
I don't want to damage the newly purchased hardware so what is the best way to run a dual boot setup?
M.2 Drive = Windows 10 1TB HDD (A) = MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 1TB HDD (B) = ?
Is assigning the operation systems to individual harddrives the best way of running a dual boot setup? Or should I partition the harddrives separately? Also, what do I do with the last TB of space that isn't running the OS? The windows 10 OS will be running my PC games so it takes priority accessing the M.2.
Any advice will help, thanks in advance!
