Does timemachine still work?

I’m interested in creating a Hackintosh, and had a question regarding Timemachjne backups. Are they still supported / and would it be possible to restore a backup from my MacBook that just died recently? Also, I have an z390 aorus Ultra with an intel i9, i found an outdated guide for Mojave and was curious if the bios settings/ setup process are relatively the same doe Catalina if anyone knows? /r
