Question about booting hackintosh drive from a real mac

I apologize if this is more clearly spelled out somewhere online and I just didn't find it, but I'm wondering the following:

1. If I create a clone of a hackintosh drive (using CCC or something similar), and remove any EFI folder from the clone, can I safely boot this from a real mac? From what I've read, the answer is yes, but I'm hoping to confirm that, as the posts I found are sort of old. There are some mentions of bricking a system if this isn't done properly, and that would be not so great...
2. If the above is possible, is it really just as simple as deleting the EFI partition from the hack drive, and plugging it into any mac (compatible with the os installed on the drive), or are there other checks or things to do to make sure the real mac won't be bricked?

In case it's helpful, I'm running Mojave 10.14.6 using OpenCore 0.5.9, with the following hardware:

Gigabyte Vision D z490

Core i7-10700k

iMac 19,1

My sense is as long as I remove all traces of the EFI, it should boot from any real mac... Right?
