Clover r5119 Breaks Audio in Mac and Win (ALC 892 - AsRock B365m Pro4 - MacOS 10.14.6)

Hi all,

ALC 892 - AsRock B365m Pro4 - MacOS 10.14.6 - 9400F - Clover r5119 - AppleALC 1.5.0

I just updated my clover to r5119 and noticed that the audio from onboard was missing.

  1. At first I thought that the new clover doesn't match with the newest AppleALC so I rolled back my EFI folder to r5118. Nada.
  2. I changed my device injection according to AppleALC list. Nothing works. I have also check and unchecked HDAS to HDEF patch for each changes in the device.
  3. Rolled back AppleALC to 1.4.9, also nothing. But I do hear crackling sounds with some device IDs

This is what fascinates/frustrates me:

  1. I logged into Windows from Clover bootloader, turns out the problem also occurs there. I noticed that Windows recognised Realtek driver, but no audio output at all. Also did boot from motherboard BIOS.

Anybody have the same problem with Clover? I feel like this is a motherboard level error, but can't wrap my head around how Clover can actually break the motherboard. I don't think it's possible, but I'm not computer engineer.

I would really appreciate any help.

Audio from DisplayPort were okay but I would like to avoid it if possible, as there is no volume control. I'm aware of Soundflower but that hasn't been updated for a while. My last tinkering is with SSD firmware update from windows, which goes smoothly.

Edit: if Clover indeed breaks, there is a reason for me to transition to OpenCore. But I need to solve this audio problem first. RMA is out of option, as a. no AsRock rep around me b. shipping internationally is asking trouble nowadays c. this is my primary device.

Edit2: Oh, VoodooHDA doesn't work
