Am I taking the wrong approach?

So I’ve been trying to get a ryzentosh working with my ryzen 7 1700 and asrock b450m pro. I’ve done a few hackintosh machines with my old intel box but have been legit spending days and days on this one. I won’t give the individual problems I’m working on those with online searches.

I’m trying to do high Sierra with just open core because I have a 980 gpu. I am open to swapping that out and getting an amd card but I wanted to make sure I could get it working correctly then make the swap. Am I creating a much more difficult Situation for myself?

I’ve been getting stopped constantly at the “BSD PROCESS NAME CORRESPONDING TO CURRENT THREAD”. I’ve done just about everything and rebuilt the entire usb stock a few times and hit the same road block. Should I try clover? Thanks for any input. I feel totally stumped
