New Hack time, looking for Mobo input. (Specific requirements)

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to upgrade from my I7700K, purely because I need as much RAM as I can get. Some Asus boards go to 128 GB. I was looking at the Asus ROG Z390-E gaming mobo. It seems to reasonably well supported but the specific questions are:

Does anyone have direct experience with this board. My current Asus, pretty much everything just works out the box. Any gotchas? Are there any specific better boards to be looking at?

Secondly, and more specifically, does anyone have success using 128 GB RAM?
