I've been a lurker and been wanting to make a hackintosh for a couple years now. With the quarantine, I thought it'd be time to go ahead and try. I have been using Macbook pros since 2010 and I never felt like I needed a desktop. The last desktop PC I owned was a Dell XPS 200 from 2005. Now that I've gotten into video editing, my personal 2014 Macbook pro could not keep up. My goal was to have a powerful machine within a small form factor that can process 4K videos on Final Cut Pro. After hours of research, I came up with the parts below (also dependent on availability due to coronavirus): CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K Nearly everything works flawlessly with the exception of screensavers. For some reason the screensaver will not pop-up after being idle. Everything else such as sleep, audio, sidecar, iMessage, Facetime, Airdrop, etc are all stable. Also Apple Tv does not seem to work with my setup. I've change my SMBIOS to iMacPro1,1 and this worked; however, it breaks sidecar. Anyone have ideas on the screensaver and apple tv issue I'm facing.
