I had a perfectly good working hackintosh w/ the following:
i5-8600k, GA-Z370n-WiFi, 16Gb ram, Sapphire Pulse RX580, Corsair RM550.
Dumb 'ol me thought it would be a great idea to transfer my build into a smaller case. I managed to get everything set up in the new case only to find it stuck in a reboot loop when I hit the power switch.
I think somewhere along the line of transferring cases I managed to damage my mobo. Thought it may have been the new Corsair SF600 PSU at first but I triple checked all of my connections and then plugged everything into my old RM550. Same thing. Boot loop. Here's a vid.
Also, I reseated the ram, reset the CMOS, and also tried pairing down to just the mobo and the cpu. Still gets stuck in the boot loop. Thought it might even be the power switch in the new case, so I disconnected the leads and jumpstarted the board with a screw driver. No dice.
Anyway, Z370 boards seem pretty hard to come by now so it looks like I'm going to be stuck purchasing a Z390 board, which from what I can tell is not an ideal situation to be in.
I'd like to replace my Z370n with a new one if possible but that doesn't seem like it's an option. I've read some mixed things about the Z390 I Aorus Pro WiFi from Gigabyte... what are my options here? I'm not planning on upgrading my cpu at this time.
I have a full, bootable backup of my system and also supposedly, a working copy on my ssd, but no way to boot into my system to see if everything is still working. I'm really pissed at myself.
