How to Force MacOS to Use Bluetooth Dongle?

I have my Hackintosh mostly set up now, aside from a few minor issues. One of which is that my onboard Bluetooth do not seem to work. My mobo is an Asus X570-Plus, so the chip is almost certainly unsupported - however, macOS still detects SOME kind of BT hardware, causing the settings panel to always appear to be searching for devices.

I tried plugging in the BT USB adapter that worked on my last Hackintosh (Targus ACB10US1), but the settings panel didn't seem to notice - it was still trying to use whatever it did before.

So, is there some way to force macOS to use the bluetooth dongle instead of the onboard device it is trying to use? If so, is there a better BT 5.0 adapter I should look into that would work out of the box?

System:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • GPU: AMD Radeon 5700 XT (XFX THICC III)
  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus WiFi
