Graphics Card swap

TL;DR: Swapped a GTX 650Ti for an RX480 and it apparently worked out of the box on Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave, but gaming and photo editing performance is way worse then it should be. The rx480 was tested and works fine on windows (dual boot).

Hi all,

I Success fully built a Hackintosh last year and I've been running it with Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave since.

It's a ryzen 5 1600 and at the time it had a GTX 650 Ti 2GB (the guides at Amd OS X said this board is not compatible but it ran on Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave without any tweaks).

Now last week I ended up buying an RX480 4GB.

I simply swapped the two cards and it ran out of the box. Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave identifies it as an RX 480 4GB and everything works fine.

Now, the main reason I got this card is because I started play World of Warcraft again. And the GTX 650Ti was giving me 20~40fps.

Much to my surprise, I didn't see a noticeable improvement on my fps after I installed the rx480, so I booted up my windows partition, and my fps on WoW is now over 80fps with the same settings I was running on macOS Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave. (Photoshop is another example of poor performance).

What I'd like to know is: do I have to change any settings for my rx480 to perform on its full potential?

I'm hoping I can solve this problem without formatting and re-installing the whole system.
