Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn’t find it. Mobo (Z97X-UD5H) supports up to 32GB RAM (4 slots). Mac identifier (obtained from this board years ago) is iMac 14,1. This refers to a late 2013 iMac that claims to be limited to 16GB RAM (2 sticks).
Is the RAM limit limited to the hardware, or software? Running El Capital, Intel 4790. Currently running 16GB, considering a jump to 32. Thanks.
