Vanilla USB install -- Clover boots from the USB drive, but does not show me any bootable Apple images.... If I boot from the Hackintosh HDD with the USB stick plunged in - Clover *does* show me the boot image on the USB drive and I can boot from it. What am I missing?

So I am following the Vanilla USB install. I am using a Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina install (Install MacOS Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina.app). When I got to the part where it says "You now have a bootable USB that will boot in a MAC", I tested on my Mac mini -- and YES, it booted on my Mac mini. So far, so good!

So then I followed the next step and used Clover to put a EFI bootloader on the USB stick. I put some minimal KEXT's into the EFI folder (including FakeSMC). When I try to boot my machine with the USB stick -- the Clover interface appears, but there is no bootable image to select!?!?

At one point, I put the USB stick in my Hackintosh and booted Clover from my HDD.... the Clover interface shows me the MacOS Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina image on the USB stick, and lets me boot from it?!?

What am I missing? Why doesn't the Clover on the USB stick see the bootable image, while the Clover on the Hackintosh HDD does?
