Reinstalling with OC, stalling at "Still waiting for root device".

Good day all. First post here, hope everything is correct.

I've been trying recently to reinstall High Sierra on my HP Elite 8300 SFF using Opencore instead of Clover. I'm following the vanilla desktop guide (desktop.dortania.ml). OC loads fine from my USB, but trying to boot the installer always results in "Still waiting for root device" and a prohibited sign. I've tried searching everywhere for clues, and of course looked at the troubleshooting section of the guide. I've created USB maps, tried using different quirks in my config, and tried using minimal SSDTs/kexts. Nothing seems to work for me.

My specs are:

Intel I7-3770 CPU

8GB RAM

WD Blue 1TB HDD - MacOS boot drive

MSI Aero ITX 1050ti 4GB GPU

Everything else is stock, but I'll happily add more info if needed.
