Apple logo flashes for a second and the screen goes black | I hit a roadblock trying to boot with Open Core

Hi,

I'm trying to boot macOS Catalina on my Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen 3 (2015 model, i7-5600U CPU, 1440p screen). I'm following the Open Core guide for laptops linked in the sidebar. Here's my current EFI folder.

What happens is the following: I boot into OC, select Install macOS Catalina option, there's a lot of verbose, then the apple logo with the loading bar flashes for a second and then the screen just goes black. The fans are going full blast though. However I cannot output anything to an external monitor via laptop's HDMI. But that is to say I can't output anything via that HDMI even normally, so there's a chance that it's broken.

Anyway, I'm kind of desperate as to what's wrong, and I have no idea what could be the issue here.
