KVM Switch with Hackintosh/Windows

Wondering if anyone has experience using a KVM switch with Hackintosh and Windows on the same PC?

I recently bought a KVM switch (TrendNet TK-240DP) since both my monitors are DisplayPort compatible (actually one of them only has a DP 1.2 slot), so they both go into the KVM switch console and then I have two other display port cables going into (1) my onboard GPU (UHD630) for macOS and (2) Dedicated GPU (nVidia) for Windows.

Seems to work fine but I'm running into an issue where on macOS the displays turn black (I can still see the cursor and move it around, plus I can hear audio but the whole screen is literally black) pretty frequently. It's like when you plug in a monitor and the os has to re-adjust, except all the windows stay in the same position, it's literally just off, really weird.

Btw I did a fresh install of macOS using the NVRAM support, so it's possible my config is messed but I doubt. Pretty sure it is a KVM issue, perhaps the OS is not receiving the signal from KVM (faulty KVM?).

Would really appreciate some help on how to debug this or what to do in general.
