My Dell Inspirion 3650 Dual Boot with High Sierra and Windows 10. I finished this a couple of months ago but never got around to posting my Success until now.
My System:
- Cpu: Intel Core i5 6th Gen
- GTX 1060 6GB
- 16 GB DDR3L Ram
- 1TB HDD from Dell (High Sierra)
- 500GB Samsung Evo 860 (Windows 10)
I can't say too much about the motherboard so I left the specifications pdf from Dell below. Everything is as it came from Dell besides an extra SSD, 8GB of RAM, and the GTX 1060.
What Works:
- Ethernet
- Monitor Audio
- GPU
- Basically everything you would expect
What Doesn't Work:
- WIFI/Bluetooth (I don't plan on trying to fix)
- Audio jacks for my speakers
Plans
I would possibly like to get the audio for my speakers working although when I made the hack it was impossible to find the correct kexts for my motherboard. I have also been thinking about possibly upgrading to Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina I am a little hesitant due to the fact that my GPU will no longer work and I would be stuck with the Intel 530 iGPU and I am scared the performance won't be great (if you use 530 iGPU on Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina let me know how it is). Overall it is great for productivity for school and allows me to separate the things I do for school on my hack and the things I do for fun on Windows.
